Pieces for Students
Bartok's music often has a catalogue number preceded by the
letters "Sz" for Andras Szollosy, who numbered Bartok's pieces in
1957.
14 Bagatelles Sz. 38
10 Easy Pieces, Sz. 39
For Children, Sz. 42
First Term at the Piano
Sonatina, Sz. 55
Mikrokosmos, Vol. 1-6, Sz. 103
This massive work is a wide collection of short pieces arranged from
easiest to more difficult. It is almost like a method book without
any technical or theory lessons (Bartok left those up to the
teacher). Volumes 1-4 are easier, and 5-6 are more on the
intermediate and early-advanced level.
